Currently the Foundation office is in Dar es Salaam Region where some activities are implemented such as meetings of Parents and or care-givers of people with Down Syndrome. This enables them to discuss various issues for the well-being of their children and people with Down Syndrome.
Most of the parents and or care-givers who we have contacts with are in Dar es Salaam. (mostly in Mbagala sub-suburb). Others are from other regions, namely, Arusha, Dodoma, Iringa, Kagera, Kigoma, Kilimanjaro, Mara, Mbeya, Ruvuma and Tanga. Altogether about ninety-five (95).
HOW WE WOULD WANT GOVERNMENT AND OTHER STAKE -HOLDERS TO COME IN AND HELP
We have already engaged Government through signing of Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly & Children (MoHCDGEC). We wish to work together to implement activities which are addressing Health, Social & Community related issues to people with Down syndrome.
PPDSF is also in the process of signing a MoU with Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Vocational Training. The MoU is particularly aiming at finding a way on how we can work together in an inclusive education at all levels to people with disabilities where people with Down Syndrome form a part of it. We also wish to explore more opportunities
available in the education system in Vocational Training and Life Skills.
We would very much appreciate if individuals, groups of people, charities, both local, regional and international institutions support us in any way possible, in kind and/or in monetary form.
